Lake Chivero is a haven for watersport fanatics, bird watchers and nature lovers, as well as the source of Harare's main water supply. The southern shore is home to zebra, giraffe and a variety of antelope. Activities available include horse riding, fishing, crocodile viewing and game walks.
Also known as Lake Mcllwaine Recreational Park, Lake Chivero was first named in memory of the late Sir Robert Mcllwaine, a former judge of the High Court and founder of Zimbabwe's Soil and Water Conservation movement.
