Barack Obama "Change We Need"

I am not one to go deep into politics, but the frenzy that has caught my attention is that of the 2008 American Presidential elections to take place in November.

I have watched a few of Obama’s campaigns and i must admit i was glued to the television whilst listening to his speech. For some apparent reason his charm captivates people. Even though i am not a part of the American elections i do feel as if i am in a way i cannot describe. I think Obama projects hope and the strive for a better future for everyone and that are indeed individuals & unique. He makes you believe there is light at the end of the tunnel. So i think from a social aspect this is one of the qualities many Americans wish to see in their Leaders.

Through my communication with fellow Americans, some issues they face are poverty, crime, theft, stereotyping, racism, lack of health, education and opportunities etc. But this is not just happening in the States but across the globe including in my homeland Zimbabwe.

For me i believe it is every child’s right to be protected, to have a basic education and access to healthcare. But in nowadays if you aint got the money, you left behind forcing people to hustle etc. So many people need to be uplifted, motivated and to see the sunshine too. The media does not really show much of what really happens in countries all you see is the high life of celebrities, the best cribs, the most expensive cars, etc etc, nothing really to motivate the youth to encourage them to stay in education and yes also develop their talents.

Many people especially in 3rd World countries think 1st World countries are the land of ‘milk & honey’ because that’s what you shown, then visa versa media on 3rd World countries is mostly shown the pessimistic either people beating up each other etc etc. Yes i know all must be shown but what about also showing the organisations that are trying to help make a difference to 3rd World countries development & how to help support them. Also promoting the tourism. My informative programmes would be Ross Kemp on Gangs, Panorama, Dispatches & certain documentaries now and again and of course the World Wide Web.

Not just black people are affected by these things that go on in the world, but white, asian etc

People should not vote for him just for the fact he is someone of colour, but vote for him if you feel he is the right candidate for the White House and the one to bring CHANGE for all Americans & possibly for all of us.

I am sure he has many issues to address if he does win the election, & it will not be an easy one. I have never been to America, but i hope one day i will get the chance, maybe get to meet Obama himself, you never know. But also for me to experience the culture there and hopefully meet many of my friends i have communicated with over the years.

Whatever the outcome is i wish Barack Obama, John McCain & all the other candidates the best of luck, that the vote be free & fair too and that the new President elected helps the people of America live a life with harmony and sunshine.

I am still trying to find information as i see many topics say George Bush was not the first President and that a man by the name of John Hanson was.

If you know of any information, you can contact me and send me some, i would appreciate that very much.

One love!
