Zimbabwe Bird - Bataleur

The Bateleur belongs to the bird family. The raptor preys mostly on birds including pigeons & small mammals. Sightings can be seen at the Gonarezhou National Park (home to over 400 bird species) and the Save Valley Conservancy. The birds common residence is in the Savanna surroundings in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Red represents the blood shed during the liberation struggle

The white triangle represents peace
The red star represents internationalism (a political movement advocating better economical & political co-operation among nations)

Kirsty Leigh Coventry


Also known as the 'Golden Girl' and Zimbabwean Sports Women of the year 2000. Born 16 September 1983 in Harare, and she also attended 'Dominican Convent'. She is one of the people out there portraying the optimistic side of Zimbabwe, so Makoroto! to Kirsty for her achievements and may she be blessed always.
